Acharya Charak has mentioned Ojas in Dashpranayatan. Vajikaran chikitsa mentioned in Charak Samhita mainly focuses on ojas which in turn endows the person with potency ,strength, both mental and physical immunity and vigour. In male infertility Vajikaran chikitsa is mentioned which includes use of Vajikaran basti, medicated ghee, some very potent herbs like Kapikacchu, Ashwagandha, Gokhru, Shatavari which are used to treat male patients.
In female patients too ojas is an important factor which is considered to promote Ovulation and is vital for reproductive organs functioning. In Ayurved the ultimate aim of female infertility treatment is to release the obstructed Vata for which shodhan chikitsa like Basti, Uttara Basti, Virechan are used. These are proved to be very effective in female infertility treatment. Another factor is the strengthening of Shukra Dhatu and Ojas which are vital for female reproductive organs.
